The Nuclear Business Unit at AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Commercial Manager who thrives on teamwork with a strong desire to deliver for both internal and external clients. We are looking for someone who has experience working in the Engineering, Manufacturing, or Construction sector and enjoys a variety of work including the delivery of commercial solutions and improvement initiatives.

With a desire to work in the Nuclear and Power sector, you'll enjoy approaching things in different ways to find the best possible fit - you like making improvements and consider different approaches, trying to find the best approach to fit whatever is the current context.

This role offers a significant platform for personal development and the opportunity to get involved in a variety of exciting projects covering a broad spectrum of clients, including Nuclear New Build, Major Plant Refurbishment, Operations, and Decommissioning. Location - Mississauga, Pickering

Your role within the team:

1. Collaborates with proposal teams in the proposal strategy development and in the preparation and review of proposals, commercial contracts, subcontracts, and other agreements.
2. Identifies and analyses potential commercial risks and liabilities associated with proposals, ongoing projects, and supplier agreements.
3. Interfaces with internal stakeholders as required, including technical, risk assessment, legal, cost estimating, insurance, bond, taxation, treasury, and finance functions.
4. Interfaces with the client. Must be able to deal with the client on delicate matters tactfully and professionally while protecting Atkins Realis’s interests.
5. Provides commercial support in contract administration and in the preparation of narratives and entitlement documentation and the resolution of claims.

The ideal candidate:

1. University degree in Engineering, Finance, or Law, or an MBA, with at least experience in a similar role in a construction or high technology industry. Formal training in contract law or contract administration is an asset.
2. Experience in commercial governance, bidding, contract management, and project delivery.
3. Proven ability to organize, set priorities, and handle multiple complex tasks at one time consistent with corporate processes.
4. Understanding of client and client organizations, objectives, personnel, and environments.
5. Ability to reconcile usually disparate objectives of buyer and seller as contracting parties.
6. Superior communication and writing skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take the initiative.
8. Strong administrative and organizational skills.
9. Experience in communicating with various stakeholder groups from internal project staff to clients, subcontractors, and the executive team.
10. Ability to effectively present information at both detail and summary level. Ability to interact with executive management and operational level staff.
