Role responsibilities This is a full-time remote role for a Service Engineer. The Service Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to customers, conducting machine installations and commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, and ensuring product quality. The Service Engineer will also work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address customer needs and will communicate with customers to provide technical advice and training as necessary. Experience * Provide technical support in the installation and maintenance of company equipment and machinery. * Create and execute robust PPM programs that will reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and increase productivity. * Monitor equipment performance through the use of OEE and suggest improvements. * Respond to and solve equipment malfunctions via a rapid response approach. * Perform equipment upgrades as needed. * Stay aligned with new technologies, methods, and processes. * Meet all statutory requirements as they relate to our equipment. * Maintain adequate documentation for all installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for reference purposes. * Test and approve new equipment before full production handover. * Engage with and manage contractors as needed. * Assist with potential new equipment purchase evaluations. * Maintain critical spares and tools at all times. * Training of staff. * Creation and management of budgets. * Report and KPI generation. Key skills/ attributes * Time-served electromechanical engineer with at least 7+ years’ experience in a similar role. BTEC or City and Guilds in Operations and Maintenance Engineering or similar. * BEng desirable but not essential. * Experienced gained within the steel processing industry. * Excellent electromechanical diagnostic skills. * 18th edition City and Guilds. * Service and repair of equipment such as tube rolling mills, press brakes, automatic saws, decoilers, slitters, CNC benders and plasma cutters. * The ability to work well as an individual or as part of a team. * Predominantly a day shift position but with a commitment to work out-of-hours as the needs of the business dictate. * High degree of literacy and numeracy. * Versatile interpersonal approach that promotes strong collaboration. * Excellent PC skills especially using Microsoft Office Excel. * Fluent English both written and verbal. * Clean UK driving licence. * Forklift license. * IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferable. Package / Remuneration: The remuneration package offered at this stage is subject to the experience of the candidate, but will likely include the following: Basic Salary: Between £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) Additional: Pension, healthcare, company vehicle
