About the role

Coast Underwriters is looking for an Intermediate Commercial Marine Underwriter to join our growing team! This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our office in Downtown Toronto.

What you’ll do here:

1. Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Coast’s underwriting guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by underwriting manager.
2. Focus on sustainable profitable growth
3. Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
4. Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies
5. Use effective communication and negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
