Town Planner Job in Whiteley, Hampshire Town Planner job available with a reputable housebuilder based in Whiteley, Hampshire. Working on projects across the region as part of a collaborative team. Offering a salary of up to £32,000 plus benefits. Founded over twenty years ago, this independent housebuilder is renowned for constructing high-quality, affordable homes in the Hampshire region. With a current annual output of approximately 150 units, they have ambitious plans to double this figure in the coming years. To facilitate this growth, they are expanding their Planning team and seeking candidates for the roles of Town Planner, Senior Town Planner, or Planning Manager, welcoming applicants from housebuilding, local authority, or consultancy backgrounds. The position involves securing planning permissions for various projects, ranging from unique bespoke developments to large-scale schemes exceeding 1,000 units, contributing to long-term local regeneration efforts and offering a wide variety of project opportunities. Role & Responsibilities Take responsibility for the planning process across all stages, from site inspection through to receipt of planning permissions, reporting to the director of the department Create and manage planning applications, conditions, and appeal documents for local authority submissions Conduct research on previous planning applications for sites, as necessary Accurate record keeping for internal systems and local authority planning policies and plan reviews Represent the business at planning and consultation meetings Keep up to date with local planning policies and strategies across transport, green infrastructure, renewable energy, local economy, jobs, climate change, and more. Obtain and negotiate quotes from consultants and external engineers liaise with the wider planning team on relevant issues.Required Skills & Experience 2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally within the local region Experience in addressing the general public as well as council officers and committee members in a public forum Knowledge and experience in the planning processes and associated regulations Planning or Surveying Degree or above or equivalent is desirable MRTPI, MRICS or RIBA is desirable.What you get back Salary ranging between £28,000 - £32,000 DOE + mileage 21 - 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, depending on seniority Christmas shutdown (allocation from annual leave) Office hours of 9am - 5pm On-site parking Group healthcare scheme, and more.Apply If you meet the criteria above, send us your CV and portfolio.
