Production / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Newmarket (CB8) Duration: 6 to 9 months Hours: 8:30am until 4pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £35,000- £40,000 Job Reference: 35334 Polytec are looking for a Production / Mechanical Engineer as maternity cover for our client based in Newmarket. Responsibilities: * Design / Develop products, and implement into manufacture following the design process * Complete fully costed BOM's for new products maintaining through development * Manage the smooth transition of NPI products into manufacture * Design tooling, fixtures and assembly aids for internal and external manufacture * Produce manufacturing work instructions from 3D models * Support NPI programs with DFMA, tolerance, design optimisation and value engineering support * Highlight and drive new processes and methods developed for new products, back into legacy products Requirements: * HNC in Mechanical Engineering * Experience with 3D CAD software, ideally at least 3 years' SolidWorks * 2D CAD experience, ideally AutoCAD * Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise * Good project management skills * Awareness of different manufacturing processes, such as manual assembly, product testing and machining Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
