Your unique experiences might be exactly what we need!Apply today to be considered for an exciting opportunity with us.Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Data Center Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical compute infrastructure in our datacenter.ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with datacenter safety protocols and best practicesMonitor server racks, network devices, and other compute infrastructure for performance, utilization, and issues.Perform regular maintenance on servers, storage, and network devices according to standard procedures.Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on servers, switches, routers, and other compute infrastructure.Assist with hardware installations, upgrades, migrations, and other projects.Document configuration changes, maintenance performed, and other relevant information.Coordinate with vendors for hardware maintenance, and support contracts.Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.Desired Skills include:In-depth knowledge of server hardware, network devices, and datacenter architecturesHands-on experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting of compute infrastructureFamiliarity with monitoring tools, remote management, and automation frameworksStrong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized proceduresCollaboration across multi-discipline teams to ensure effective operations of people and machines across multiple data centre buildingsA mindset for continuous improvement and innovation in data centre operationsIntegrity, openness, and honestyAbility to deliver innovative and practical approaches to technical mattersStrong organisational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate professionally and personally at all levelsWorking, collaborating, and partnering across all levels of the organisation – team playerMeticulous when it comes to the detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDesired QualificationsRelevant associate's degree or technical certifications, A+ is an assetCo-op Students will be consideredLinux experience is requiredBackground in IT, computer science, computer repair, diagnosis, or software development or related fieldExperience and/or exposure to datacenter operations and infrastructure managementDatacenter infrastructure certifications (CDCP, CDCE, etc.) are an assetOther Information:Starting rate of pay: $26/hourLocation: Prince GeorgeReporting Line: Data Center Technical LeadTravel Requirements: Occasional travel as required across Canadian and US operationsFlexibility: IREN operates across multiple countries / time zones.
