This role will supervise and manage the assets of a suite of existing investment funds in accordance with their pre-established investment policies as described in their offering documents. The PM will also work closely with the investment committees of the funds to coordinate investment decisions during investment committee meetings and will perform similar duties on new funds that are created.

This role will also contribute to the oversight and growth efforts of the dealer’s discretionary PM and Unified Managed Account platforms, and will play a key role in the UMA program’s overlay portfolio management function.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and manage the assets of a suite of existing investment funds

KYP on all investments held by the funds

Monitor and perform periodic reviews of fund performance

Daily portfolio monitoring of a suite of funds (investment policy, strategy and investment restrictions)

Producing and approving trade blotters

Trade and account reconciliations

Approving or rejecting investment opportunities recommended by the investment committee

Contribute to the overlay management efforts of the unified managed account platform

Play a role in assessing candidates for the dealer’s discretionary PM platform

Perform the supervision function for advisors who are part of the dealer’s discretionary PM platform

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Qualifications:

Currently or previously registered as a Portfolio Manager with a securities regulator

Very strong investment acumen and understanding of portfolio construction principles

Good knowledge of alternative investments (real estate, private equity, private debt, etc.)

Strong understanding of the Canadian full-service wealth management space

Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance or related fields

CFA or CIM designation

Must be fluent in English and French to communicate with advisors across the country

Experience:

Minimum of five years of experience in the Canadian wealth or asset management industries
