Nursery Educator Location: Pocklington, North Yorkshire Salary: £17441 per annum Start Date: September 2024 Contract Type: Full-Time / Fixed Term GSL Education are currently seeking a qualified Nursery Educator for a vibrant and nurturing pre-school located close to Pocklington, North Yorkshire, with the position starting in September 2024. As the ideal Nursery Educator, you should hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or similar. About the Job: Full Time, Monday to Friday, from 8am until 4pm, 37.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity for a 1-year fixed term contract, with the option of securing a permanent contract from September 2025. The chance to be a part of an exciting development of a new Nursery provision.   About the School: The classes consist of a small number of students aged 2- and 3-year-olds. This school creates well-rounded individuals who are prepared to leave their mark on the world, thanks to its small class sizes and lively extracurricular offerings in a secure rural environment. The preschool is a vibrant setting that offers excellent early childhood education and facilitates a seamless transition into Reception class. All staff are qualified early childhood educators, and receive regular training in areas such as music, swimming, and Forest School Programmes. From their very first days in Pre-School, children have an abundance of possibilities to develop their interests and abilities thanks to the bright, friendly classroom, acres of playing fields, a purpose-built theater, a swimming pool, and a sports hall. Children engage in daily one-on-one, individualised learning, practical, multisensory Maths, and Phonics lessons using the "Read, Write Inc." method. Children engage in a variety of specialised activities during the Pre-School's afternoon sessions, including its well-liked Forest School, swimming classes, French, music workshops, and the brand-new "Mind, Body, and Soil" programme. Nursery Educator Responsibilities: Participate in all planning for the preschool students. Contribute to the development and preparation of educational resources. Assess children’s development using observation and evaluation. Encourage students to engage and collaborate with one another by implementing behavior management techniques in accordance with the policies and procedures of the school. Identify and confront incidents of racism, harassment, bullying, victimisation, and any other abuse of equal chances. Support and help children with their pastoral requirements, such as clothing and tending to their injuries, illnesses, or emotional needs. Stay up to date about with latest regulations regarding school policies, such as those pertaining to child protection, behavior, anti-bullying, use of force and physical contact, ICT and cyberbullying, equality, and diversity. ·         Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, inside and outside of the classroom, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Nursery Educator Requirements: Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or higher. Solid understanding of the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) within the EYFS framework. Proven experience working with young children in a nursery or pre-school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to continuous professional development. Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
