Finance Assistant – with Apprenticeship Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust Location: Copthall House, Sutton, SM1 1DA Salary: £20,000 per annum Job Duration: 24 months Hours: 36 hours per week, throughout the year, including time available for training: Level 2/3 Apprenticeship depending on qualifications & experience The College and Academy Trust is a dynamic, forward-looking organisation, with centres and academies in Camberwell Green, Carshalton, Kingston, Hackbridge, New Malden, Wallington and Hillingdon. The Role As a Finance Graduate Apprentice, you will be an integral part of our Finance team, gaining practical experience across various functions. This role is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of finance within a corporate environment, including financial analysis, reporting, auditing, budgeting, and more. You will work closely with experienced professionals and receive tailored training to develop your skills and knowledge. Duties Include: * Assist the Purchase Ledger and Purchase Order Function * Assist the Expense Function * Assist the Asset Management Function * Assist the Reconciliation Function * Assist the Financial Reporting and Auditing Skills and Qualifications * Ideally, but not essential recent graduate with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field * Must have A*-C GCSE grades in English and maths or functional/key skills level 2 and above. * Experience of working within a team (school, college, work placement, club, sports team). * Experience of using Microsoft office * Willingness to learn and undertake a range of office tasks including the use of office equipment such as digital telephone systems. * Ability to work with a range of staff in an office environment. * Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with staff, students and members of the general public. * Willingness to undertake a full DBS reference check to work with vulnerable adults and children. * Able to demonstrate the commitment to achieving high level skills in finance, and a sensitive approach in dealing with a wide variety of people. * Able to maintain accurate, legible and up to date records. * Able to work within a team * Able to prioritise and organise own workload * Able to demonstrate appropriate levels of accuracy and attention to detail. * Able to work on own initiative, sometimes working under pressure and to tight timescales. * Able to adhere to the College’s Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults, and Health and Safety Policies.
