Senior Manager, Power Systems Studies

PSC Consulting is searching for a dynamic Senior Manager to join our Power Networks division. This position is tailored for a forward-thinking leader who is capable of enhancing business outcomes and promoting innovation throughout North America and Europe.

As the Senior Manager, you will be directly accountable to the General Manager of Power Networks and Strategic Advisory. Your role will involve leading a team of managers towards outstanding business performance. Key responsibilities encompass overseeing financial objectives like revenue and profit, assuring strategic and operational excellence, and prioritizing your team’s growth. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in spotting new business prospects and maintaining PSC Consulting’s position at the forefront of the industry.

While this position does not involve direct technical work, it emphasizes the mentorship and development of a leadership team, the cultivation of new client partnerships, and the strengthening of existing relationships. You will offer expert advice to clients, consultants, and management, bolstering PSC’s standing as a reliable consultant in the power networks sector. Collaboration with Europe Power Networks will be vital, as our merged regions are key to realizing strategic and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of managers, promoting a culture of high performance and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Europe Power Networks to align strategies and operations, ensuring synergy and effective resource allocation.
  • Oversee business performance, managing financial targets such as VAR and EBT.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, driving business development and sales.
  • Ensure projects are well-resourced, budgeted, and have contingency plans in place.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • 15 + years of technical experience and at least 5+ years in a managerial capacity.
  • A strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development and sales in a relevant industry to PSC.
  • An outstanding communicator with the ability to lead and develop other professionals.
  • A strong desire to provide solution-focused sales to new and existing customers.
  • The ability to influence others as well as actively listen to various viewpoints to determine the best course of action.
  • An undergraduate degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems.
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment.

Special Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without restrictions on traveling.
  • Ability to travel, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for business development and consultancy work.
  • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily required to sit or stand at a workstation while operating computer, phone, and other office equipment.
  • The employee is required to communicate speak, write, type and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

PSC is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At PSC it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,000 to $250,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in our profit share program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
