Position Title: Director, Security Engineering and ArchitecturePosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Toronto HQRequisition ID: 31105Security Engineering DirectorThe Director, Security Engineering and Architecture is a highly technical and strategic position responsible for overseeing the organization's security engineering efforts and leading the architectural design of robust security systems. This role requires a deep technical expertise in security best practices, system design, and engineering, as well as leadership capabilities to manage and direct a team of expert security engineers and architects. Importantly, this role will be responsible for the management and implementation of our security tools.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Security Engineering and Architecture team, ensuring technical excellence in all aspects of security systems and infrastructure.Architect and design advanced security strategies and frameworks to protect digital assets, including intellectual property, company data, and customer information.Responsible for security configuration of our Microsoft Defender suite of products (e.g. Defender of O365, Defender for Identity), zScaler, and other security tools.Experience in leading multi-year Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives, including technology and program level deliverables.Oversee the technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation.Apply expertise in cybersecurity engineering to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.Maintain technical knowledge and insight into cutting-edge security technologies, cryptographic techniques, and the threat landscape.Evaluate, recommend, and justify suitable security technologies and tools to enhance the defensive posture of the organization.Conduct and oversee regular security assessments and code reviews to ensure the effectiveness of security measures.Design and oversee the implementation of end-to-end integrated systems, ensuring that the architecture and security controls meet the business risk appetite and regulatory requirements.Develop technical and architectural documentation to support enterprise-wide security solutions.Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align security engineering and architectural strategy with business goals.Mentor and develop the Security Engineering and Architecture team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.Education & Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.Professional security management certification is highly desirable (CISSP, CISM, etc.).Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Security suite of products (e.g. MS Defender).Knowledge of zScaler and other cloud-based technologies.Minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security, and IT jobs.At least 5 years in a leadership role managing security engineering or architecture teams.Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST.Strong understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr
