Jobs by Category: Security & Automation Job Function: Cybersecurity Status: Full Time Schedule: Regular Description Help businesses solve complex business challenges Our team and what we’ll accomplish together As a Security Consultant on the Security Delivery team, you will design, implement, and integrate various network security solutions such as Firewalls, VPN, IPS, Content Filtering and-or NAC for TELUS Security's external customers (all markets). Delivering a variety of security related technology projects, you will exceed customer expectations by ensuring they are set up to have a safe and secure environment. You will work with many customers and a large variety of deployment scenarios, as well as many teams within TELUS. You'll also be collaborating very closely with your peers and with your extended team (i.e. designers & developers of our Security Services, managed services teams and SOC analysts). The position will provide extensive experience to continue to develop strong design and implementation skills and ample opportunity to branch out and advance with the cybersecurity industry. What you’ll do Lead hands-on deployment and configuration experience with Fortinet suite of security products as well as other vendors such as Cisco ASA/FirePower/FTD, Palo Alto Networks and Cloud solutions, Cisco IronPort ESA/WSA, SafeNet MFA, OneLogin and-or Cisco ISE within Small-Medium Businesses and-or large organizations. Design and capacity plan complex and multi-vendor security solutions including planning and organizing your work based on multiple project timelines and priorities. Ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery of security solutions. Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for firewall solutions. Participate in security incident triage, investigation and analyses; provide support for front-line analysts to understand and analyze network logs for suspicious and anomalous behavior. Work hand in hand with managed service teams and SOC analysts to support a solid Customer Experience, for Managed Security Services projects. Supporting and guiding junior security consultants through network and firewall troubleshooting. Deploy Security solutions on premise (physical devices), on virtual environments and-or on public cloud infrastructure. Make timely and logical decisions by analyzing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve deployment challenges. Support sales engineers as well as design engineers during pre sales phase and participate as required on Proof of Concept and Pilot engagements. Qualifications What you bring Degree in Engineering/Computer science, Information Technology or equivalent. Minimum 4 years’ experience in Security Solutions including technical knowledge of engineering, computer and network security, security protocols. Certifications - Fortinet (NSE4,7). Direct experience with implementing, administering and managing Fortinet suite of network and security technology – physical appliances, virtual appliances and cloud deployments. Advanced foundation in networking architecture and protocols based on the OSI model from layer 1 to 7. Expertise in TCP/UDP/IP protocols, their function and design. The ability to obtain Canadian Government Secret Security Clearances. Availability for evening, overnight and weekend work as required. Great-to-haves Certifications - Fortinet (NSE6, 8), CISSP, SANS/GIAC, SABSA, Azure, AWS, GCP, network security vendor certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto Networks). Public Cloud knowledge. Experience in network and application-level security testing/review. Programming / scripting experience (python, ruby, bash, powershell or other languages). Salary Range: $101,000-$151,000 Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15% Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
