As a Power Engineering Student, you will become a part of a team that manages the day-to-day requirements associated with plant operations. In this role, you will gain your required steam time, exposure to an oil industry environment and training that will be highly beneficial towards your Power Engineering program and you will receive mentorship and coaching from an experienced operations team, to help develop your career. Oil Sands/Thermal Term length: 4 Month or 6 Month Term start: May 2025 Job locations: Grand Prairie Region & Medicine Hat, Alberta Relocation to these areas will be required for this role Shift schedule: Varies from site to site - typically 7 Days On, 7 Days Off, 7 Nights On, & 7 Days Off (12 Hour Shifts) Safety sensitive position: Yes (Pre-Screening A&D test required) Key Accountabilities: Monitor the unit to ensure all production rates are achieved and maintained Assist in daily rounds and routines associated with all steam generators Learn the layout, purpose and operating parameters of your designated area Assist Operators in the preparation and maintenance of equipment Participate in safety programs and maintain a safe work environment What You Bring to The Role: Currently enrolled in a Power Engineering Technologist Program Familiar with Microsoft Office programs Physically fit and able to work in extremes of temperature Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (including GDL) with a reasonably clean driver’s abstract Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude What We Offer: Competitive salary May be eligible for relocation to the local area pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Policy Multiple volunteer opportunities within the community If you are interested in this exciting student work term opportunity, please include your resume, cover letter and unofficial transcripts as part of your online application.
