Job Requirements / Description
- Activate new accounts in the local market and increase market share from existing accounts
- Develop new business and accounts and contacting new customers in the market.
- Work closely with Revenue Management to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotels
- Promote the facilities of the hotel for banquet hall bookings, F&B and corporate meetings.
- Develop and nurture a sales pipeline to build short to long term business
- Understand the overall market dynamics – competitors’ economic trends, supply and demand, and how to sell for assigned accounts
- Travel to designated territories to maintain existing accounts and to generate new business
- Participate in the conception and execution of marketing initiatives, including Internet marketing, email marketing, promotions, events, packaging and partnerships
- Conduct sales calls, and provide assistance to team members in developing new accounts and closing the sale
- Prepare monthly and weekly sales activity reports and action plans
- Act as Manager on Duty and Lobby as required
- Prepare and administer the hotel's marketing plan and budget to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Actively participate in Revenue Management meetings to maximize revenue and occupancy as defined by Yield Management strategies
- Develop and implement Advertising and Sales Promotions
- Ensure hotel representation at Trade Shows and Sales blitzes as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hotel sales experience.
- Significant business leadership experience with a minimum of five years of Department Head leadership experience.
- Previous experience leading sales professionals and building highly functioning teams is an asset
- Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Advanced presentation skills with the ability to tailor an audience-appropriate message.
- Excellent leadership skills that will incite enthusiasm, provide vision, and ensure that direct reports deliver timely and exceptional results.
- Ability to keep the “big picture” strategic path in focus while also managing the details.
