Expected Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

We’re looking for a Social Media Coordinator (Contract) to join our Marketing and Sales team based in our Support Office on Chester Street in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Director of Marketing.

Job Overview:
We’re looking for a Social Media Coordinator who is bright, creative and driven to join our fast-paced marketing team to cover a 1-year parental leave. We’re a strong Canadian brand who is a repeat Best Employer award winner, and we get to spend our time talking about, taste testing and celebrating chocolate!

The Social Media Coordinatoris responsible formanaging, executing, and measuring our social media content. They will manage our social content schedule andbe responsible forcommunity management. They will work closely with our marketing and merchandising team,photographersand designers to support seasonal marketing campaigns. This role is ideal for someonewho has 1 to 2 years experience in social media and ispassionate about social media, looking to gain further experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Creating social media content. Developing content ideas to promote upcoming product launches and brand stories, ensuring content resonates with the customer and the brand. This includes creating written content, graphics, and videos ranging from several seconds to several minutes.
• Managing the social media content calendar and planning process. Planning, managing, and coordinating the content calendar, researching upcoming relevant news, events, or holidays. Leading social content brainstorming sessions.
• Community management. Responding to and engaging with our Purdys community across social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest & Glassdoor
• Experimenting and using data to inform strategy. Extract insights and learnings from each social channel and from your time engaging with our community, use these insights to inform our social strategy.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends. Keep on top of social media trends and popular culture, recognizing opportunities for Purdys to take advantage of to further resonate with customers.
• Showcasing the Purdys brand and voice. Adopt Purdys Chocolatier’s voice and tone across content work and ensure that anything shared on any social channel is on-brand.

Eligible candidates MUST have:

• Must have 1 to 2 years’ experience in a social media role creating social media content for a brand
• Must have experience creating social media short-form video content, like Instagram Reels
• Must have University degree or college diploma in English, Marketing or Communications, or similar fields
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a keen eye for grammar
• A passion for social media, social media trends and content creation
• A self-motivated, fast learner who enjoys being both a self-starter and collaborating in a team environment
• Experience using Sprout or social media scheduling and reporting software
• Experience working with influencers (either paid or organic) is an asset
