We are seeking a highly organized Shop Coordinator to join our team in Ottawa . In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our production operations, working closely with forepeople to manage schedules, materials, and ensure smooth workflow for our piping and sheet metal projects. Your attention to detail will directly impact the success of each project, from production forecasting to maintaining essential documentation. This position offers opportunities for growth as you develop skills in planning, budgeting, and process improvement while collaborating with key teams across the organization. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Production Responsibilities: Update Production Schedule: Keep our production calendar updated with the guidance of our forepeople and related required communication Creating production forecasts with support from forepeople Monitoring production lead times and coordinating with internal stakeholders Build and maintain all TSSA binders for our Plumbers, Fitters, Refrigeration Techs related to the production shop Assembly of fabrication package (for field installation) once the design is completed Maintain shop material tracking log Maintain stored material/equipment Log: Communicate with Project teams, coordinate shipping, receiving Material Return: Ensure returned material is being tracked and credited to the correct projects Support with piping meeting minutes Supporting our shop piping forepeople with planning, safety, production metrics, documentation, maintenance and procurement Support of production budgeting and maintain organized tracking database Pricing comparisons as required Working on production flow, metrics and software process review QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 2-year business or technical degree or equivalent experience Experience in Industrial, Fabrication, or Machine Shops or experience in Manufacturing industry Proficient computer skills, advanced excel skills Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form Organized and detail oriented Willingness to learn Ability to solve problems and work independently Willingness to work co-operatively with others to achieve team goals and objectives We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
