Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurses to provide specialized foot care services in residents in Long Term Care facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing, particularly in medical foot care, and a strong commitment to patient education and comfort. You will collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary clinic team to ensure each patient receives the best possible care tailored to their individual needs. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a consistent and predictable treatment scheduleProvide a list of treated residents for billing purposes. Individual statements for residents' tax claims will be an added bonusPerform comprehensive foot assessments for clients with various health conditions and foot related concern.Provide medical foot care services such as general foot care, nail trimming and filing, diabetic foot care, non-surgical ingrown toenail removal, thick nail reduction, corn removal and callus reductionEducate patients and their families on proper foot hygiene and best routine care practicesDevelop personalized patient care plans in collaboration with clinic teamMonitor and document changes in clients’ foot health by electronic charting on Point Click Care (PCC)Develop rapport with patients and ensure positive patient experiencesMaintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control protocolsConduct treatments in residents' rooms to ensure privacyWork effectively with residents who may have cognitive decline or challenges in understanding Qualifications Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Certification is required.Prior experience in foot care is an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsValid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to effectively manage time and prioritiesAbility to work independently and within a teamComputer knowledge and has the ability to learn proprietary software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred Requirements: Must have valid Ontario Driver’s license and reliable vehicleClear and current CNO registrationRNAO or RPNAO liability insurance maintainedPreferably, candidates will have their own equipment/toolsClear Vulnerable Sector check within 6 monthsTB test within validity period (dependent on facility but usually within 12 months)Other immunizations depending on facility requirementsMinimum two professional references What We Offer: Flexible hours and scheduling to accommodate your lifestyle!
