One of our clients in Mississauga, ON is looking for a Operations Supervisor for their facility.
Shift - Night shift and 12 hours continental shift

Responsibilities-
- Ensure on-site operations are conducted in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, within
- permit conditions with a significant focus on H&S.
- Supervise daily operations and provide leadership to union employees.
- Lead the training & development initiatives for union employees.
- Ensure a focussed approach towards H&S – safety talks, observations, audits, reporting etc.
- Enforce the policies laid out by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Maintain and implement facility standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to identify and lead repair work whilst keeping downtime at minimum.
- Take a leading role in managing housekeeping activities in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and inspect repairs carried out by Maintenance to ensure the quality of work being performed exceeds that required for continuous operation.
- Work with Operations and H&S to report all incidents, safety infractions, non-compliance issues and participate in the investigation and development of corrective actions
- Monitor and make recommendations aimed at improving the Safety performance.
- Support the site’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and our Occupational Health and Safety (OH & S) Program
- Ensure all visitors to the site (Contractors, brokers, etc.) are complying with site and corporate safety policies
- Responsible to Coach & Council employees regarding issues – Performance, H&S, Attendance etc.
- Ensure all required reporting – Production, H & S etc. is accomplished in a timely manner.
- Lead training of new unionized employees and provide evaluation of skillset, documentation of training
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Prior work experience in a foundry environment is an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
- Prior experience in a large industrial setting is preferred.
- Strong technical and mechanical skills are required
- Strong understanding of industrial processes is required
