Freelance Estimator - Civil Engineering Projects (Yorkshire Water) Start: September 2024 Duration: 6 Months Location: Leeds – Office Based Sector: Civil Engineering / Utilities / Water Infrastructure My Client are a reputable Main Contractor working within the Yorkshire Water Framework that are recruiting for a Freelance Estimator with a strong background in civil engineering projects and who is familiar with the complexities of water infrastructure schemes. The Role: The Freelance Estimator will focusing on a portfolio of Yorkshire Water projects. Based from a Leeds office, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate cost estimates for a range of civil engineering works, including water treatment facilities, pipeline construction, pumping stations, and more. Key Responsibilities: • Preparing detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams • Review drawings, and programme spec to prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns. • Reviewing and managing tender submissions • Ensuring tenders align with client specifications and requirements. • Assessing project risks, contingencies, and potential value engineering opportunities. Key Requirements: • Proven experience as an Estimator in the civil engineering sector and water infrastructure. • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and UK civil engineering regs. • Experience with estimating software • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously. • Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
