Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to be part of one of Canada's leading mining companies and join our team! Reporting to the Lead, Collaboration Systems, the Architect, Collaboration Systems is accountable for the design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of Teck’s Collaboration and Productivity environment, principally Microsoft 365 and Azure services including Exchange messaging infrastructure in a hybrid configuration, Teams calling, Azure Automation and various third-party integrations.  To be successful, you will have excellent technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a top performing teammate that can effectively communicate and work across many teams and develop collaborations at all levels of the organization to deliver the highest possible business value! Key Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.Messaging Architecture: Contribute to the design and architecture of our Exchange messaging platform and its integration with other systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.Solutions Engineering: Lead technical discussions with collaborators to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Implementation and Standardization: Own the implementation and integration of new infrastructure and services, designing and maintaining architectural standards and frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability across projects.Communication and Leadership: Collaborate with multi-functional support teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security specialists to ensure seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals.Project Delivery: Participate in the full project delivery lifecycle from kickoff to technical implementation and status update meetings, to project closeout.Performance Optimization: Continuous monitoring and optimizing of our systems to ensure efficient user experience and resource utilization.Operational Support: Provide operational support for Teck’s Collaboration and Productivity environments, primarily involving Microsoft 365 and Azure services.Maintenance and Deployment: Coordinate the maintenance and deployment of Exchange environments, including configuration, migration, and integration with other systems.Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures and compliance standards to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with corporate policies.Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Function independently as a subject matter expert in diagnosing and resolving complex issues including critical outages related to Exchange messaging systems and other technologies.Documentation and Training: Build and maintain comprehensive technical documentation relating to Teck’s Collaboration and Productivity technologies.Vendor Management: Evaluate and engage with vendors to procure hardware, software, and services and needed.Stay Current: Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, security concerns, and best practices in messaging architectures and Exchange Server technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our organization and recommending adoption strategies. Qualifications:5 - 10 years of senior-level support in a complex medium to large-scale Enterprise organizationDetailed working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, Teams Calling, SharePoint Online and OneDrive), Azure (automation, Identity and Access Management), and on-premises/hybrid messaging configurationsDemonstrated ability to make decisions, solve and troubleshoot problems based on analysis, experience, and judgementAbility to understand and able to work within architectural frameworks. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting/Azure Automation/Microsoft Graph Solid organization skills and a proven ability to multi-task between project and operational work as neededDemonstrated ability to manage time demands and prioritize work when supporting multiple locations and business unitsExperience in modernizing legacy systems or similar transformational initiativesStrong verbal and written communication skills at both technical and executive levelFluency in Spanish language is an assetRelevant and current Microsoft 365 certifications preferred (Messaging, Teams, Security)  About Teck: At Teck, we value diversity.
