Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week

Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:00AM-3:00PM EST) and occasional weekends as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process semen samples
  • Perform sperm analysis and preparation for IUI and IVF
  • Sperm cryopreservation and thawing
  • Assist with daily laboratory cleaning
  • Safely collect blood samples (venipuncture) for all Twig patients
  • Prepare and process blood samples on the in house blood analyzer
  • Prepare samples for shipment to outside laboratories
  • Communicate with clinic personnel, medical personnel and patients
  • Document in clinic EMR
  • Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory QA/QC
  • Perform laboratory equipment checks and required maintenance
  • Assist with cleaning and restocking throughout the clinic as needed
  • Managing supplies of clinical equipment and consumables

Qualifications

  • BSc. in Biology or related field (preferred)
  • MLPAO certification 
  • Sound understanding of human physiology
  • 2+ years of experience in an andrology lab
  • 2+ years of phlebotomy experience
  • Organized and able to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and seek assistance from other team members as necessary
  • Experience with basic, automated (CASA), and advanced (Gradient washing) semen analysis
  • Experience performing sperm morphology assessments
  • Experience reviewing the release of donor samples
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Must enjoy learning and interacting with people of all backgrounds
  • Experience, willingness and comfort with providing care to LGBT2SQ individuals and couples
