Story Behind the Need:
• Business group: Operational Risk Program – part of Global Risk Management – within it is the enterprise risk team, this team is part of it; work on any programs that touch globally across the Bank; this specific team’s role enables programs within the operational risk program eg. new initiatives, key risk indicators, operational loss events – for these programs, the team manages systems and development and reporting; the resource will assist in technical aspect: SQL queries, analytics if any changes are required for reporting
• Project: Provide support for resource gaps in reporting development. Supporting new reporting requests. Currently working on IBM system upgrade: Open Pages 8.3 – updates to the reporting. Project is set to go into early Spring 2025.

Typical Day in Role:
• Design, develop and deploy Power BI/data visualization solutions (simple to sophisticated) to designed user requirements/specifications.
• Conduct requirements analysis and translate data into informative reports, dashboards and KPI’s.
• Connect to data sources, import data, and transform data for Business Intelligence.
• Support data model enhancements with analysis and solution recommendations.
• Research, analyze, recommend & implement new methods for developing Power BI solutions.
• Support steady-state Power BI reports.
• Develop queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects. Create exploratory data analysis, reports, dashboards to surface data for different stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT team to develop/maintain/manage SQL Server database Global Operational Risk entities.
• Provide data to business users from SQL Server on ad-hoc basis.
• Perform data integrity checks for data completeness.
• Act as a bridge between IT team and GOR for any database needs.
• Support project delivery with database analytics, mapping, profile comparison, PowerBI reporting enhancements.
• Escalate to Senior Manager for assistance and/or escalation purposes, to quickly analyze problems and resolve escalated issues, and provide recommendations to management regarding resolution
• Database work and visualization for creating dashboards
• Extract and design data, and build dashboards accordingly
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 8+ years of expert experience in designing, developing, and deploying Power BI/data visualization solutions i.e., reports and dashboards (simple to sophisticated) by translating business requirements to design data models and develop visualizations
• 8+ years’ experience as a Developer using SQL and Power BI
• 8+ years’ of demonstrated experience with data analysis
• 8+ years’ experience with data visualization, data modeling & UX standard methodologies
• Expert proficiency in Excel
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Experience with Operational Risk – Understanding of Operational Risk processes and metrics will be a plus
• Business analysis & consulting ability – Experience at writing business & user requirements
• Experience in data extraction, transformation and loading process (ETL)

• Ability to translate technical knowledge into business value.
• Strong communication skills to be able to communicate with various stakeholders/external teams

Education:
• Undergraduate Degree or higher and /or 8+ years of relevant functional and/or technical experience
Best VS. Average Candidate:
• The best candidate will be an expert using SQL; power BI and strong data analysis skills and will have excellent communication skills; able to create dashboard in BI and design data models that provide actionable insights.

• 1 round – In person Interview – 45 minutes – with HM and another team member
• Background and experience, examples from previous jobs, behavioral and technical questions; possible technical component of demonstrating solutions in interview
