The ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our Contract Engineering Department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide. Our plant is also known for its expertise in the development and manufacture of various products that make it possible to meet several industrial analysis needs on a daily basis. By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec, you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team. You will actively contribute to the execution of our projects. You will be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team where you will perform various tasks, while ensuring the respect and continuous improvement of our methodology, tools, and work processes. Your role as an integration and test engineer/scientist will be to prepare and execute integration and testing campaigns, at the end of which you will deliver state-of-the-art projects that meet strict quality criteria and meet the demanding requirements of our customers.

Your responsibilities

  • You will participate in the design reviews and work in close collaboration with the other disciplines to ensure product integrability and testability.
  • You will generate documentation specific to the integration and tests according to the requirements provided by our customers (test definition, integration plans, test plans, integration and testing procedures).
  • You will coordinate an integration team.
  • You will coordinate and execute performance tests.
  • You will write test reports.
  • You will prepare and present reviews of projects internally or in the presence of customers.
  • You will ensure the proper application of safety rules (OHS, CE, CSA) and compliance with standards (NASA, ESA, ASC).
  • You will actively participate in the planning tasks and technical proposals (estimate).
  • You will occasionally travel, both to customers’ and to ABB's various offices (USA and elsewhere in the world).

Your background

  • You have a bachelor's degree in physical, electrical, mechanical engineering or in physics.
  • You have 2 years of engineering experience including at least 5 years dedicated to performing tasks in system integration and testing.
  • You have good knowledge of optics and are familiar with the operation of a Fourier transform interferometer, as well as of the effect of its various components on performance.
  • You have experience in planning and executing tests.
  • You have a proficiency in writing (integration and/or test plans, test report).
  • Good understanding of French and English (spoken and written) in order to discuss with our various customers.
  • English is required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
  • You have strong personal motivation, you are autonomous, you show initiative, and you have a concern for order and quality.
  • You have a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
  • You have a strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance with workplace safety rules.
