Experience level: Mid-senior Experience required: 6 Years Education level: Bachelor’s degree Job function: Finance Industry: Financial Services Compensation: View salary Total position: 1 Relocation assistance: No Visa: Only US citizens and Greencard holders JOB DESCRIPTION: Being a member of the Credit and Systemic Risk Team, the Senior Systemic Risk Associate will support the goals and objectives of the department's function, primarily by conducting ongoing monitoring of potential risks, preparing both qualitative and quantitative analyses, running or supporting various projects. The analytical scope of requirements includes both external and internal sources of potential systemic threats to DTCC and/or the securities industry. The associate will conduct research on equity and fixed income markets with respect to potential systemic risks, with an emphasis on DTCC-eligible securities such as equities, Treasury securities, mortgage-backed securities, municipal bonds, high-yield corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, and agency securities in addition to supporting the team's maintenance of a suite of macroeconomic hypothetical stress scenarios as part of the company's stress testing program. RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep abreast of industry and world issues and developments that potentially have systemic implications for DTCC and our clients. Conduct analyses of DTCC’s products and services to identify and map trends that may have potential implications. Produce concise written research on macroeconomic and market trends and risks, and verbally articulate analyses to risk analysts and executive management. Produce or contribute to short thematic reports on key topics impacting financial markets (e.g., macroeconomic trends, Russia-Ukraine war, U.S.-China relations). Perform research and contribute to Systemic Risk White Papers, Barometer surveys and other initiatives. Prepare daily market watch updates to brief Executive Management on recent market developments and upcoming events that may impact U.S. and global financial markets. Develop and prepare periodic reports on systemic risk issues and initiatives for the Systemic Risk Council, Executive Management, the Risk Advisory Council, the Management Risk Committee, the Board Risk Committee, and the Board of Directors, as applicable. Support DTCC’s Enterprise Stress Testing Committee by participating in the creation and maintenance of macroeconomic hypothetical stress scenarios that could impact DTCC’s member firms and business. Prepare presentations and materials to support both external member outreach and internal DTCC initiatives. Provide various forms of analysis, data, charts, etc. needed to support the interconnectedness risk initiative. Coordinate with various departments within DTCC on internal and external initiatives, including the various groups within the Group Chief Risk Office, General Counsel’s Office, Operations, Product Management, Treasury/Finance, Relationship Management, Compliance and others. Identify risk within assigned areas of responsibility and support associated risk mitigation efforts across DTCC. Assess existing processes and suggest new ones that most optimally anticipate and mitigate risk to DTCC and its clients. Maintain regulatory awareness and compliance and ensure adherence to risk-related policies and standard methodologies. Demonstrate and embed the behaviors and proficiencies that build and improve a risk management mentality in the organization. Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to mitigate risk; advances critical issues appropriately. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 6 years of related experience as a risk management professional or equivalent experience within risk management or financial services industry. Experience writing or contributing to research reports. Knowledge of various financial instruments, with a validated understanding of equity and/or fixed income markets. Prior experience working at a clearing organization a plus. Prior experience with stress testing and scenario development a plus.
