Pricing and Promotions Planner, Role Specific Accountabilities:

  1. Lead Promotional Planning: Develop and execute Giant Tiger’s promotional planning roadmap.
  2. Campaign Oversight: Plan and oversee the development of weekly and multi-week promotional campaigns.
  3. Optimization Recommendations: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide recommendations on pricing and promotional strategies.
  4. Financial Reporting: Maintain and manage pricing and promotional financial reports, ensuring strategic and operational alignment.
  5. Project Management: Manage pricing and promotions projects or strategic initiatives to drive business growth.

Pricing and Promotions Planner, Required Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Educational Background: Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  2. Promotional Analytics: Experience in customer promotional analytics, including structure development, predictive modeling, and measurement.
  3. Data and Analytics: Proficient in leveraging data and advanced predictive analytical techniques (data mining, advanced modeling, statistics).
  4. Forecasting and KPIs: Expertise in promotional forecasting and linking performance to primary KPIs.
  5. Marketing Technology: Experience with marketing technology platforms (CRMs, campaign management, email marketing) and loyalty programs.
  6. Customer Experience Systems: Familiarity with real-time interaction management, customer experience systems, and automated marketing technologies.
  7. Testing and Analysis: Skilled in A/B & multi-variate testing and data analysis.
  8. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey analytics findings and business opportunities to diverse audiences.
  9. Technical Proficiency: Experience with SQL, Google Analytics, and BI tools.

Pricing and Promotions Planner, Preferred Assets:

  1. Industry Experience: Previous experience in retail and/or grocery.
  2. Language Skills: Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
