Great role for a Litigation Attorney with 4+ years experience in insurance coverage. The role involves representation of international and domestic insurers during claim investigations and litigation concerning policy defenses of first party insurance. Must be collaborative and able to act independently throughout the litigation process, with an interest in developing an expertise in insurance coverage work in a unique area. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives within a busy, stimulating and fast-paced team environment. Job Description As Litigation Attorney - Insurance, Key Responsibilities will include:Taking depositions, attending court hearings and mediationDrafting motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests and interrogatories, and other legal correspondence/ litigation documentsVaried matters including analyzing insurance policies, draft coverage opinions and provide coverage advice and recommendations to clientsWork with investigators and expertsActively contribute to the development and maintenance of client relationshipsThe firm will consider candidates relocating (open to NY, Nevada, Oregon, Washington State, California or other US bar). The Successful Applicant The successful Litigation Attorney - Insurance, demonstrable experience will include:Admitted to practice in New York4+ years relevant Litigation Attorney experienceFirst-party insurance coverage experience (e.g. marine, fine art and specie, property, specialty, contingency, special events, cyber etc.) highly beneficial Commercial litigation experience including the taking of depositions, conduct of oral arguments and discoveryFederal court experienceStrong writing, organizational and time management skillsRelevant hands-on work history.
