Planning Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Planning Engineer to work for an international manufacturing company in Basildon supplying components to the Aerospace industry. The Planning Engineer will identify customer requirements and create production plans and BoM's for new parts. If you have experience of reading drawings and specifications to produce manufacturing plans, then we want to hear from you. What's on offer? Salary up to £40,000pa Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5pm and 8.00am - 1.00pm on Friday 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Death in service benefit of 2 x annual salary Company pension scheme Employee Assistance Programme Free on site car parking Duties: Review orders and liaise with customers for any corrections before loading onto MRP system. Identify all production and treatment requirements from customer drawings and specifications. Produce manufacturing plans and BoM's for all new parts including surface treatment and subcontract requirements. Work with production departments to ascertain the best methods of manufacture and any changes required in the plan. Generate concessions for deviations from drawing requirements and submit to customer. Liaise with customers regarding any issues or changes with design or manufacture. Interface with the Estimating department on Engineering queries for new quotations. Verification of newly entered orders and created parts. Skills & Experience: Production planning experience is essential. Must have a good understanding on manufacturing techniques and processes. Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture. Excellent time management skills, must be methodical with high attention to detail. Good communication and organisational skills are a must. Excellent problem solving with a "can do" attitude is also prerequisite. Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure.
