With a fresh technology approach, you will understand, advocate and leverage technology choices and solutions to enable current and future-state business capabilities.  You will understand business drivers to create supporting technical architectures and solutions.  The solutions include applications, infrastructure (on-premises and cloud) and data.  With strong interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to build constructive relationships and influence.   Main Responsibilities You will research and understand technology trends and advocate the pragmatic application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to meet evolving business needs and operating models. Undertake detailed evaluation of potential technology solutions for compatibility with the company's business needs, technical needs and existing architectures. Collaborating with business stakeholders, infrastructure and applications teams will be key, so that you maintain a holistic view ensuring alignment between the technology and business teams, linking technology plans to business plans. You will be hands-on, understanding low-level implementation protocols, software and operational components to design architectural solutions from the ground up; whilst communicating these solutions to guide development and delivery. Maintain the key principles of security by design, operability and supportability across the IT estate. Liaising closely with these internal IT stakeholder groups and incorporating those principles into designs, advocating consistent data management and high-quality IT systems delivery. Manage technical debt across a diverse portfolio of application assets, you will observe and analyse this portfolio to identify the ageing of technologies to reduce risk, save costs and consolidate products and systems. Defining and developing IT principles, policies and standards, to ensure best practices for technology systems. Through implementing an architecture governance and design authority process you will ensure that architectural solutions are compliant with these. Leading and advising on projects from a strategic architecture perspective. Mentoring and guiding other members of the architecture team.   Person Specification At least 5 years of experience in IT architecture, and in-depth knowledge of business analysis processes and IT environments. You will have strong knowledge and experience of technical and architectural design principles within an enterprise framework. Including web application development, layered architecture, enterprise integration patterns, networking (on-premise and cloud) and IT operations. Extensive low-level knowledge of hardware and software systems – the principles and concepts around full stack web development, data centre operations, cloud services, web services, integration protocols, developer frameworks and tooling. Due to the nature of our services, you must have experience of mission critical products and services - including design, integrating and managing applications. Strong technical knowledge and practical experience of all integration types including batch integration, real time integrations including SOA, API, Event driven architecture and Microservices. Good conceptual knowledge of programming language constructs and techniques of automation testing. Understanding of networking and infrastructure comprising of level 2 and 3 devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. You will have experience in security mechanisms such as application security, cloud security, data leakage prevention and encryption techniques – creating security standard patterns for infrastructure and applications. Experienced in road mapping products and strategic system planning. Understanding of business process re-engineering and business modelling concepts, business systems development, information flow diagrams. sequence diagrams and business scenario analysis. Experience with Lucid chart software would be an advantage. It would be preferable if you had in-depth experience in at least one architectural framework (such as TOGAF or Zachman) and enterprise architectural tools along with some financial acumen to inform key design decisions. Strong leadership and project management skills.
