We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Calgary office. The ideal candidate will have strong project engineering experience on capital projects, for the oil & gas sector, on behalf of an engineering firm.

The Senior Project Engineer will coordinate with engineering disciplines, lead engineers and/or task forces to ensure on-time completion of project work activities. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience on high-value middle eastern oil & gas capital projects.

Responsibilities:

· Providing technical review/direction

· Coordinate and lead key projects reviews and evaluations, such as HAZOP/PHA's, facility siting studies, cost and schedule, etc.

· Coordination of drawing reviews & 30/60/90 model reviews

· Interface with operations personnel and subject matter experts to ensure project design objectives are met.

· Work with engineering to create and validate detailed design, cost estimates and schedules.

· Work with engineering to select and manage vendors for engineered and fabricated equipment.

· Coordination of project standards integration and exception management

· Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including coordination with construction, operations, maintenance, reliability and turnaround groups.

· Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communication, risk, procurement and stakeholders.

· Review and analyze alternatives and options to deliver value through the project scope.

· Regularly communicate project status to the project leadership and generate monthly project reports.

· Request and manage the creation and changes to purchase orders and contracts.

· Actively monitor and manage project changes.

Technical and Industry Experience:

· Extensive project engineering experience on high-value oil & gas capital projects. Preference to candidates with significant work experience on middle east-based oil & gas capital projects.

· Full life cycle project engineering experience (FEED to Commissioning) on projects in excess of $1,000,000,000

· Previous gas processing experience.

· Familiarity with sufur recovery units, acid gas removal units, acid gas enrichment units, and NGL storage is an asset.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong people skills supported by effective decision making and influential negotiation skills.

Education – Qualification, Accreditation, Training:

  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree
  • Extensive project management experience for oil & gas capital projects
  • Previous work experience on middle eastern gas processing projects is heavily preferred.
  • P.Eng and PMP designations are an asset, but not required
