As the Safe Disclosure Office (SDO) Lead, you will work in partnership to promote a culture of speaking up, create a platform for members to address workplace concerns. The SDO Lead will develop a framework and system for intake of workplace concerns and align with current systems, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and foster a culture of respect and inclusion. The SDO Lead will also be an important resource for leaders and members to manage and address workplace concerns. Specific duties include: Lead the process of confidential intake and referral services for the Calgary Police Service (CPS) members and volunteers who wish to report workplace concerns. Lead the initial analysis/assessment of complaints as part of the Respectful Workplace process. Develop and execute a strong communications plan for the program. Design and implement the framework for the safe disclosure intake of concerns. Develop and implement the analysis/assessment program, including processes and SOPs. Conduct intake meetings on workplace concerns, evaluate risks, triage issues and provide recommendations on next steps. Apply appropriate dispute resolution (ADR) options and coaching to resolve conflict. Collaborate with key partners to develop, advance, promote and deliver respectful workplace and human rights tools and resources for the organization. Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing themes and recommendations. Develop and implement training for members for preventing and minimizing workplace bullying and harassment. Ensure confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Promote and model CPS values: respect, honesty, compassion, courage, fairness, accountability and integrity. Qualifications A degree in commerce/business, social sciences, human resources or a related field and a minimum of 5 years directly related experience. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of human rights legislation and trends is required. Expertise in writing clear and concise reports is also required. Knowledge of law enforcement human relations and experience working within a policing environment is considered an asset. Specialized training in conflict resolution, ADR and workplace investigations is preferred. Success in this position requires the ability to build and foster collaborative relationships, excellent time management and prioritizing skills to handle high volume and complex tasks and meet tight deadlines. A growth mindset, adaptable to evolving conditions along with a strong political acumen and the ability to handle matters that are confidential and sensitive in nature. Pre-employment Requirements An enhanced security clearance will be conducted. Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials. Compensation: Unrated Level E $83,059 - $125,413 per annum Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
