SEEKING SEASONAL PILOTS

Forest Protection Limited is inviting applications for seasonal pilots for the 2025 season running from 7 April 2025 to 15 September 2025. Pilots will be based in Fredericton, New Brunswick and will report to the Chief Pilot. FPL is seeking pilots for the following roles:
Tanker (AT802)
Birddog (C208 & PA60)
Shadow (C208 & PA60)
Tanker Pilots (AT802)
Pilot Air Tractor AT802 aircraft during fire suppression operations in New Brunswick and on deployment to other jurisdictions, and on aerial application projects, as required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
Commercial Pilot License-Fixed wing
Obtained at least 1500 hours of pilot in command time and 300 hours tailwheel experience.
A valid IFR is an asset
Birddog Pilots (C208 & PA60)
Operating a C208 or PA60, conduct bombing run safety assessments and coordinate air tanker activity around active wildfires.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
Possess a Commercial Pilot License - Fixed wing and
Have obtained at least 3000hrs of Pilot in Command (PIC), 500hrs turbine and 500hrs multi engine.
Have a valid IFR
Previous experience in role or familiarity in aerial suppression operations is an asset, but not required.
Experience in a Piper Aerostar, Cessna Caravan, or aircraft equipped with a Garmin G1000NXI is an asset.
Shadow Pilots (C208 & PA60)
Operating a C208 or PA60, carry loading crews and equipment to reload bases around New Brunswick and assist with various loading duties as needed.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
Possess a Commercial Pilot License - Fixed wing and;
Have obtained at least 1000 hours of total time and 100hrs multi-engine PIC.
Have a valid IFR
Experience in a Piper Aerostar, Cessna Caravan, or aircraft equipped with a Garmin G1000NXI is an asset.
Experience in a PT6 equipped aircraft is an asset.
For all positions, preference will be given to pilots having experience with turbine engines and low altitude operations like aerial application or fire suppression.
Operational Requirements
All applicants must:
Be legally permitted to work in Canada in the Federal Aviation sector
Hold a Canadian Commercial Pilot – Fixed Wing license or the Transport Canada-recognized international equivalent.
Hold a Canadian Category 1 medical certificate.
Have flying experience within the last 12 months.
Successfully complete FPL ground and flight training program, including a pilot competency check.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
Be capable of obtaining a clean Criminal Background Check.
Hold a valid Canadian driver license or a federally recognized international license.
Capable of obtaining a clean Driver Abstract.
Hold a passport valid for at least 30 days after the end of any employment.
Have a modern smartphone with an up-to-date operating system capable of running secure company communication apps, as well as a laptop or device capable of accessing email and suitable for reading small print, such as for exams
