Position Summary: The Engineering Parts Analyst plays a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless creation and management of part numbers within the organization's inventory system. This position involves coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure accurate part number creation, as well as monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to part number management to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Part Number Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating part number creation activities across various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance. Facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders to gather necessary information for part number creation, such as specifications, descriptions, and classifications. Track and manage part number requests, ensuring timely processing and resolution of any issues or discrepancies. Work closely with stakeholders to review and validate part number data, ensuring accuracy and completeness before entry into the inventory system. Provide guidance and support to employees on part number creation procedures and best practices. KPI Control: Assist in the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to part number creation and management processes. Monitor KPI performance on a regular basis, tracking metrics such as part number creation cycle time, accuracy, and adherence to standards. Analyze KPI data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and present findings to management and cross-functional teams. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop action plans and initiatives aimed at achieving KPI targets and driving continuous improvement. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements or system optimizations based on KPI insights. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of part number data within the inventory management system, including attributes such as descriptions, categories, and associated metadata. Perform regular audits and reviews of part number data to identify and correct any discrepancies or inaccuracies. Ensure compliance with established naming conventions, classification systems, and data standards for part numbers. Support data integrity initiatives by validating and verifying part number information against source documentation and specifications. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain documentation related to part number creation procedures, guidelines, and standards. Generate reports and dashboards to communicate KPI performance, trends, and insights to stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for management reviews, business meetings, and performance discussions. Document lessons learned and best practices for part number coordination and KPI control, sharing knowledge with relevant teams and departments. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics, eligible for CET or P.Eng. Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, data coordination, or a related role, preferably in custom equipment, heavy machinery, metal fabrication, system assembly, and testing. Skills: Experience with PDM and ERP/MRP systems. Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision-making. Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on accuracy and data integrity. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools is a plus.
