Lead Mainframe DBA

Job Description : What will you do? Be an integral part of the DBA team with expanded responsibilities towards all aspects of mainframe modernization. Help expand usage of mainframe DevOps tools for database administration. Investigate and implement solutions that can produce cost reductions and/or improve performance. Market and communicate strategy using PowerPoint and other communication tools to all mainframe users as appropriate. Improve monitoring of mainframe database using dashboards and log analyzer tools such as Splunk. Ensure databases are available as per service level agreements. Take appropriate steps to ensure database integrity and recoverability (onsite and offsite). Take steps to ensure proper capacity planning and assist with security setup and audit requirements. Provide support to developers with regards to database topics Evaluate functionality and make recommendations related to new mainframe database features. What you need to succeed? Degree in Computer Science or Technology degree/diploma. Excellent understanding of mainframe database (IMS/DB2) and application space. Well versed with good understanding of mainframe tools such as: JCL, RACF or ACF2, Broadcom and IBM database admin tools, REXX, Optim, IDAA, ADDI etc. Good understanding of mainframe modernization concepts and directions. Experience with Ansible and Jenkins for Devops and infrastructure automation. Working Knowledge of Zowe components, including Zowe CLI, and familiarity with ZOAU(Z/OS Open Automation Utilities) and integration with the other mainframe products. Experience with performance management dashboarding solutions, including Grafana, Broadcom APM for monitoring mainframe performance metrics.
