Infrastructure and Operations LeaderClient: EducationRole: Infrastructure and Operations LeaderDuration: Full-time PermanentLocation: Toronto (Hybrid)Our client, a recognized education provider is looking to hire an Infrastructure and Operations leader on a full-time permanent basis to join their team. To oversee the clients Infrastructure and Operations team focused on the design, delivery, support, and optimization of the College’s Information Technology Infrastructure, including Identity Access Management, Network, Compute, Storage, Telecommunications, Information Security and maintaining the College’s Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans. This role involves leading a team of IT professionals and coordinating projects ensuring alignment with the IT strategy.Your New RoleProvide guidance and support in day-to-day operations to the IT Infrastructure and Operations teamDesign, implement and maintain IT Infrastructure solutions, including servers, network, cloud servicesEnsure high availability of College’s network and infrastructure solutions while maintaining an elevated security posture to industry standardConduct presentations to IT management and the IT Steering CommitteePrepare annual budget estimate for infrastructure related expendituresDevelop and maintain a regular cadence on disaster recovery, backups and assist in maintaining a business continuity planWork closely with cross functional teams to assess and meet the required technology needsMonitor, optimize and report system performance, reliability and resiliency through periodic assessments and upgradesBuild and publish Operational KPIs that support College’s internal business needsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure roadmapsDraft RFP’s and RFQ’s for College procurement approvalNegotiate, maintain and monitor service level agreements with vendorsOther duties as assigned by the Manager of Information TechnologyWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:Minimum undergraduate degree in the field of Computer Science, Engineering or equivalentFive to seven years of demonstrated experience in the field.Expert knowledge of network design, systems management, and IT operations management.A leader with superior initiative, creative thinking, and problem-solving skillsExperience with team supervision ensuring teams are meeting deadlines in delivering complex projectsCertifications on network infrastructure, security and project management are considered an asset for this roleThe incumbent must possess knowledge in current technologies and best practices in all areas of IT infrastructure and operations.Ability to multi-task with a high degree of focus is essentialStrong written and verbal communications skills
