About the work environment: Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times. We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. About you: As a Business Analyst - Policy & Procedure Writer, you will be responsible for crafting, updating, and maintaining the policies and procedures for all Products with Deposits and supporting services being the primary focus. You will play a critical role in ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance across all operational activities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of industry regulations and best practices. In addition to writing policies and standard operating procedure documents (SOPs), the Business Analyst - Policy & Procedure Writer will contribute to the development and enhancement of product-related documentation. They will work closely with the Product team to ensure that policies and procedures align with product strategies, customer needs, and regulatory requirements. About the qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification preferred. Proven experience in policy development, writing, and implementation within a corporate, government, or nonprofit environment. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulations and requirements. Exceptional writing and editing abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with document management systems, version control processes, and electronic publishing tools. Knowledge of relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, JIRA & Figma) and web-based research techniques. Demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethics, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. About the day-to-day: Policy and procedure development: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and obtain all required approvals of new policies and procedures that align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Policy review and revision: Regularly review existing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with current laws and regulations. Update documents as needed to reflect changes in organizational structure, processes, or external factors. Documentation: Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive policy documents, procedures manuals, and related materials. Organize information in a logical and accessible format, making complex concepts understandable to a wide audience. Research and analysis: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends. Conduct research to gather information, identify best practices, and assess the impact of proposed policy changes. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Compliance, IT, Risk, Finance and Operations, to gather input, solicit feedback, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Stakeholder engagement: Frequently interact with senior leadership, and other executives within the organization. They must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, conveying complex information in a clear and compelling manner. Training and communication: Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate employees about new policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Serve as a resource for staff members seeking clarification or guidance on policy-related matters. Quality assurance: Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of policy documents. Perform audits and evaluations to assess adherence to established procedures and identify areas for improvement. Continuous improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls. Recommend changes to policies and procedures based on feedback, performance metrics, and emerging risks. Compensation: Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $80,000 and $90,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
