Quality Assurance Manager

What we do. Our Bakkavor Bread site based in Crewe, Cheshire make specialty hand-crafted flatbreads, baguettes, doughballs and ciabattas for customers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Waitrose and our own Pizza Express brand. About the role. Participate and direct QA team to observe and audit production processes and GMP, ensuring products are made to specification and within customer codes of practice and Bakkavor standards, reporting findings to managers as appropriate Assist in delivery of site standards for visits and audits either through direct input, indirect support and / or organisation of QA team activities Coordinate non-conformance findings including actions taken and report to relevant department ensuring completion of any required corrective actions Ensure products and ingredients are evaluated against specification Support the promotion of a quality culture and help to develop the quality management system Coordinate QA requirements for product launches e.g. update of required documentation / systems, liaison with Process team / line support to ensure product is manufactured to correct standard Plan and co-ordinate work of the QA team to meet requirements of the quality management system and the needs of the business About you. Ideally you will have a good practical working knowledge of food safety legislation and quality requirements. A strong QA background is desirable for this role but more importantly you will be energetic, punctual, proactive, and reliable with the ability to lead, guide, and motivate others towards achievement. HACCP knowledge, a food science qualification or equivalent and experience in the manufacturing industry within a high care / high risk environment will be favourable What you’ll receive.
