Reporting to the Director, Network Optimization, this position will lead the branch to build the medium and long term Cargo network. The candidate will also play an important role in planning cargo only routes while ensuring they are complementarity with passenger Network. Key Functions & Accountability Responsible for all aspects of the Air Canada Cargo's flying schedules to maximize profitability in coordination with Air Canada's passenger schedule and meet our Global Carrier objectives: Analyzing current route performance Determining capacity adjustments Optimize flight timings to maximizing connection opportunities while ensuring a competitive and attractive network for Air Canada Cargo's customers New route opportunities analysis and implementation Continuously monitor booking trends and adjust plans accordingly Ensure optimal, cost-effective fleet deployment including Air Canada Cargo, Air Canada, and trucking and interline. Communicate Network objectives and provide direction to internal stakeholders: Revenue Management, Commercial Sales, Finance, Community Relations, Operational branches, etc. Act as a point of contact with external stakeholders such as Airports, Communities and Air Canada Network Planning while ensuring Air Canada Cargo's best interest Continuously monitor events that would impact the aviation landscape such as socio-economic changes, competitive actions, business news, fuel price, which could present opportunities or threats, and proactively proposing adjustments to Air Canada's flying plan Develop and distribute revenue targets to optimize network contribution for each region. Participate on the development of the long term corporate plan and yearly budget exercise. Propose long term fleet strategies. Qualifications Self starter and able to work well under pressure Results-oriented and influential with exceptional people and communication skills Demonstrated leadership skill and able to multitask 5+ years experience in transportation, air cargo or airline a definite asset Strong knowledge of commercial principals of Airline planning University degree in Finance, Economics or Business Ability to lead projects at a network level to influence and obtain buy-in, analysis and achievement of the right results. Advanced Computer Skills: BI tools, MS Office suite of products, Power BI Conditions of Employment: Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position.
