My client has a vacancy for a talented e-commerce web developer with expert technical knowledge of the Magento platform & strong MySQL skills.
This is an exciting, broad and challenging role, where, as the web developer, you will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance and development of multi-client eCommerce websites utilizing Magento’s multi-store setup.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside our Magento partner (& back office software provider) to replace the existing Fitness Superstore website platform by the end of 2013. You will also have the chance to build new e-commerce websites from the ground up internally.
As well as working on our website design & back office integration, a key part of the role, will be ensuring that our websites and other channels can pass data and order information between internal IT systems & online marketplaces.
You will join a busy online marketing team at Northampton and will be expected to make a significant impact to the company’s ongoing success story online.
Desired Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be expected to possess the following skills:
- Experienced in Magento, being able to recommend, install and manage multiple magento modules/extensions, ensuring there is minimal compatibility issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PHP
- XML
- Some knowledge of third party API’s (Paypal, Google Maps, etc)
- Be able to assist in creating scripts or data feeds for marketplaces,including Google shopping, ebay and Amazon
- Continually optimise websites through analysis and testing
- At least 2+ years of commercial experience using Magento platform
