By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members.Good Shepherd is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Aide/Cook- Youth Services - Notre Dame House How You Will Make an ImpactReporting to the Manager/Supervisor of the Kitchen Aide/Cook will make a difference in the lives of youth by your compassionate, hospitable and non-judgmental manner. You will be responsible for the preparation, provision and oversee clean-up of lunch and dinner meals for residents and non-residents at Notre Dame House. Other responsibilities include unloading (some lifting required) and storing properly donations and food orders, job requires cleaning in the kitchen of, including fridges, freezers, and other duties that relate to kitchen/cook work.What You'll Bring to Our TeamApplicants should possess an appreciation and understanding of a range of issues including abuse, poverty, homelessness, mental illness and addictions. Applicants must possess a minimum of a Grade 12 education with some kitchen aide/cooking experience, Food Handlers Certificate, a valid C.P.R. certification (or willingness to be certified) and a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity.
