Senior Network Security EngineerClient: Top 5 BankDuration: 6 months; possibility to convert FTLocation: Downtown Toronto, 2x/weekPosition Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team at a Top 5 Bank. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Palo Alto Prisma/Global Protect VPN troubleshooting and will play a crucial role in assisting with resolving end-user connectivity and access issues. Additionally, this role involves knowledge transfer to our BSO partners to ensure a smooth transition of support responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Technical Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for Palo Alto Prisma/Global Protect VPN connectivity and access issues.User Assistance: Assist end users with VPN connectivity problems, ensuring minimal disruption to their workflow.Knowledge Transfer: Conduct training sessions and create comprehensive documentation to transfer troubleshooting knowledge to the BSO team.Collaboration: Work closely with the BSO team to ensure they are fully equipped to handle VPN support independently.Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance support efficiency.Technical Expertise:Extensive experience with Palo Alto Prisma and Global Protect VPN.Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.Proficiency in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.Experience with configuring and managing firewalls, particularly Palo Alto Networks.Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex VPN issues efficiently.User Support: Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for end users.Knowledge Transfer: Demonstrated ability to train and mentor team members or partners in technical skills.Soft Skills:Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Collaboration: Strong ability to work well with cross-functional teams and external partners.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or similar.Experience: Previous experience in a financial institution or similar high-security environment is a plus.Why Join Us:Innovative Environment: Be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation and continuous improvement.Professional Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Impactful Work: Play a key role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our network infrastructure.
