The Accounting Clerk responds to and serves as a first point of contact for customers. The Accounting Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide the Nova Scotia Health such as the vision, mission, values, strategic directions, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Graduate of a two (2) year post-secondary accounting program and a minimum of one (1) year accounting experience in a computerized environment in the past five (5) yearsExperience working within the functional area of Accounts Receivable is preferredExperience working within Meditech, STAR and SAP an assetExperience in a health care environment is an assetExperience working within MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook), accounting software Ability to work independently, with continual interruptions, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to use general office equipmentKnowledge of accounting principles and proceduresDemonstrated accountabilityDemonstrated judgment and decision making skills and commitment to customer serviceDemonstrated communication and conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated collaboration and teamwork skillsCommitment to continuous improvement and innovationDemonstrated leadership abilitiesDemonstrated planning, organization and time management skillsCommitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational healthPhysical capabilities to perform the duties of the positionTravel to other sites may be requiredCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursLong assignment, part-time 80% FTE position, 56 hrs bi-weeklyBeginning as soon as possible with an expected end date of july 3, 2026 (Approximately 24 months)*Dates are subject to changeCompensation and Incentives$23.19 - $26.24 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.Once You've AppliedThank you for your interest in this position.
