Occupational Therapist sought to support students with dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties in a specialist day school.
The Levels School is an independent specialist day school offering high-quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties. Our teaching and learning provision would also meet the needs of individuals presenting with a similar learning profile to those with dyslexia and other Speech and Language Communication difficulties.
We are seeking an innovative Occupational Therapist to join our existing dynamic Therapy Team consisting of 2 other Occupational Therapists and 4 Speech and Language Therapists. The successful candidate will need to be motivated and enthusiastic, committed to making a positive difference in young people's lives.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver social skills sessions, direct and indirect therapy under the direction of the Head of Therapy, and alongside other Occupational and Speech and Language Therapists, the SENCo and classroom teachers.
- Manage a caseload of students to deliver therapy as stipulated in their EHCP's and consultation documents.
- Carry out assessments of students attending the school and implement intervention programmes using knowledge from both theoretical and practical experience.
- Be an integral part of the school team to impart specialist knowledge to support the teaching team.
- Build relationships with all young people to encourage their interest and participation in their therapy sessions and lessons.
- Be a registered Occupational Therapist with the RCOT and HCPC.
- Have experience and knowledge of dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties and autistic spectrum condition.
- Be able to work as an integral member of a team that puts the pupils' learning and well-being at the center.
