This is a new role for a BUYER or someone with PURCHASING administrative experience! The company is a specialist business that is a purchasing " hub" for customers across the world who are looking for specific engineering spare parts . The Head office is in Colchester where the team will take orders from customers, and then source technical products globally for dispatch. This is a classic PURCHASING or BUYING role in which you will be taking inbound enquiries from customers who will ask you to source certain pieces of heavy industrial equipment. Your role is to source that piece of equipment produce quotations , add a fair " finders fee" and then liaise with the warehouses who will dispatch it Delightful role for a buyer with great admin skills looking to be office based and who knows a little about valves, pipes, gaskets and gaskets. Or for someone with solid after-sales experience in a technical environment looking to embark on a career in BUYING or PURCHASING


TITLE: Buyer
SALARY : from £30, 000 - £35,000 per annum + excellent benefits , 25 days holiday and 10% performance related bonus

Flexible working : This is an office-based role
LOCATION : Colchester in Essex ( Free car parking available)
SECTOR : Purchasing hub for international clients within the manufacturing sector
HOURS: 8.30am-5pm

COMPANY
This is a lovely role ! The company is a specialist business and acts as a purchasing " hub" for heavy industry and manufacturing clients across the world who are looking for specific components . The business employs about 100 staff globally and the Head office is in Colchester where the team will take orders from clients and then source technical products globally for dispatch. This is a classic senior level technical customer care and purchasing role in which you will be taking inbound enquiries from clients who will ask you to source certain pieces of heavy industrial equipment.

Your role is to source heavy industrial equipment and then liaise with the client and international suppliers add a " finders fee" and then organise the logistics around dispatch . A lovely Buyer role!
THE ROLE:

You will be supporting the UK and international Buying Purchasing Team

BUYING and Supplier Liaison

  • Researching new international engineering spare parts suppliers
  • Sourcing products from the USA. Europe and the Far East
  • Getting Comparing prices and service levels of suppliers
  • quotations and delivery options/timings and stock availability from Suppliers
  • Negotiate a price with the supplier
  • Negotiating delivery time-scale with supplier
  • Buying the part

SUPPLYING THE CUSTOMER Customer liaison

  • Agree terms of business and price and delivery schedule with customer
  • Producing detailed quotations for customers ,
  • Adding in a " finders fee" to the quotation
  • Double checking that the spare part meets the customer requirement
  • Reviewing technical drawings (Gaskets, Valves (actuated and manual),Flame arrestors, Tank treatment) in order to make sure the spare part meets the customer's requirements

DELIVERY and spare parts LOGISTICS

  • Liaise with the warehouse to arrange all the logistics around delivery
  • Post-sales buyer administration
  • Provide an outstanding level of personal customer care at all times.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluent English (other languages are always helpful
  • Car driver essential
  • Purchasing or buying experience or post -sales administrative experience gained in a technical ( or engineering) environment
  • Based locally
