Role Overview: The Environmental Technical Lead at Alamos Gold Inc.’s Lynn Lake Gold Project provides leadership, technical support, and training to staff, coordinating the development and implementation of environmental monitoring programs. This role ensures compliance with Federal and Provincial regulations, Alamos Gold Inc’s corporate conditions, and Indigenous Nation agreement conditions. The position is based in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, working a 15/13 rotation schedule. Travel from home to site, as well as room and board, will be provided at the Company's expense. Primary Responsibilities: Lead and support the technical team in meeting environmental monitoring requirements. Schedule monitoring and reporting duties to ensure compliance with permits and plans. Prepare the annual sampling plan and contribute to the Environment team budget. Conduct compliance sampling and monitoring for surface and groundwater, air quality, hydrology, and other biophysical parameters. Inspect and track waste management and hazardous materials. Maintain continuity in monitoring programs based on regulatory and commitment requirements. Maintain environmental-related records and documentation. Ensure maintenance of environmental monitoring instruments and testing equipment. Manage bottle orders and inventory stock of necessary reagents and field supplies. Assist in preparing compliance and regulatory reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual). Assist in developing and implementing the Environmental Management System and related policies, standards, and procedures. Participate in implementing and maintaining the environmental emergency response plan. Ensure safe monitoring locations with proper signage are established and safe access is ensured. Assist and coordinate subcontractors with additional field environmental programs as required. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience: Post-secondary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Geoscience, or a related field preferred. At least three years of experience in a mining environment. Three years of supervisory experience. Understanding of mining and milling processes and their environmental impacts. Knowledge of Municipal, Provincial (Manitoba), and Federal Acts and Regulations. Self-starter with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. Ability to work independently and in team environments. Strong proficiency in MS Office applications; proficiency in database programs and digital field recording is an asset. Ability to work outdoors in inclement conditions. Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, the environment, and community. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
