Reporting to the Senior Project Director, the Engineering Director will mainly focus on assessing and manage engineering aspect in large-scale developments. This position is located within the GTA What you'll be working on: Promote the best interest of the company. Conduct performance evaluations and goal-setting sessions with team members. Uphold a high level of morale and motivation among team members. Serve as a coach and mentor to employees under your supervision. Lead and oversee all aspects of engineering projects with a focus on nuclear facilities and materials. Develop comprehensive engineering plans tailored to the unique requirements of nuclear projects, including cost projections and project timelines. Manage the tendering and construction stages of nuclear projects, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and budgetary constraints. Collaborate closely with nuclear regulatory authorities and bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures specific to nuclear projects, including security protocols and radiation safety procedures. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nuclear engineering considerations into overall project planning and execution. Facilitate strategy sessions, project start-up meetings, engineering reviews, scheduling sessions, and constructability reviews with a focus on nuclear project requirements. Organize and direct preconstruction activities for nuclear projects, adding value for stakeholders while ensuring regulatory compliance. Work closely with the estimation team to prepare accurate project estimates and cost plans that align with nuclear project specifications and profitability targets. Optimize resource allocation to prioritize safety, quality, and profitability within the context of nuclear projects. Select and oversee subcontractors with expertise in nuclear engineering, fostering strong working relationships for project success. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors within the nuclear industry. Lead negotiations and execution of prime contracts for nuclear projects, emphasizing safety, sustainability, collaboration, and integrity. Manage project budgets, monitor progress, identify variances, and implement corrective measures to prevent cost overruns in nuclear projects. Proactively address issues and resolve challenges specific to nuclear engineering projects to ensure smooth project execution. Maintain compliance with nuclear safety, security, and environmental standards throughout all project phases. Conduct regular project team meetings to coordinate resources and ensure alignment with nuclear project objectives. Strive for zero lost time accidents and uphold rigorous project administration standards, including contract management and document control, within the context of nuclear projects. What we are looking for Bachelor's Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in nuclear engineering or related fields. Demonstrated success in delivering nuclear engineering projects with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Expertise in nuclear engineering principles, regulations, and industry best practices. Proven ability to manage complex nuclear projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to strict safety standards and regulatory requirements. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence team members in the context of nuclear projects. Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic nuclear project environment with frequent changes. Dedication to recruiting, training, and retaining top talent within the nuclear engineering field. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail within the context of nuclear projects. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with a positive attitude, especially in the context of nuclear projects.
