GBR Recruitment Ltd are extremely pleased to be working with a leading chilled food manufacturing business, recruiting for an experienced Food Production Shift Manager, to work on a day shift (06:30am start) covering Tuesday to Saturday, managing a team of 6 directs (Supervisors / Line Leaders) & c.50-100 indirect Food Production Operatives. The ideal candidate for this key day shift role, is a Food Production Management professional (at Shift Manager or FLM level) who is a strong mentor, coach & developer of others, someone who is passionate about getting the very best performance out of their production teams, using positive tried & tested methods. The business has strong working practices / processes already in place, so the key focal point of this leadership role is the companies employee's. You will focus on their well-being, their personal development & training, plus their performance levels (hitting productivity targets & meeting the quality standards required by the business & it's customers). You will be able to implement, drive & promote a happy bouyant working culture, with everyone being a team player (one for all & all for one). Duties: * Taking ownership of the production team, ensuring full compliance to the the daily & weekly production plans, delivering a quality food product range OTIF, meeting customer deadlines to a costed standard. * Delivering world class manufacturing standards, through your self development & your teams development, plus involvement. * Ensuring staffing numbers are set at an optimum level to achieve output levels to the standards required by the customers (Retailers etc.). * Responsible for maintaining excellent GMP / HACCP standards at all times, delivering quality standards required (customers and external audits, i.e. BRC) * Ensure the smooth running of the core business by liaising with department leaders to co-ordinate stock, production, picking and dispatch * Manage, control & achieve set KPI’s (i.e. Plan attainment, Cost of Quality, Labour Cost, Training, Skills Gap, Recruitment / Retention, Downtime & Waste). * Take the lead on all things food safety. * Proactive & Reactive day to day problem solving, to ensure daily production plan is met * Strong focus on SIC / bottleneck management & team management to ensure throughputs are successfully maintained at the target levels * Proactively suggest process improvements / CI, that can improve throughputs & efficiency (LEAN). * Be a real people motivator, manager, trainer & truly develop the production team workers & maximise their potential (future Managers). * Be a highly positive contributer in all production meetings * Carry out RTW’s, investigations & disciplinaries when needed. * Cross train staff to be able to multi-task & carry out varying duties. * Support NPD during the development of new products & NPI. Attributes: * Food Production / Processing experience at Shift Manager, FLM, Area Manager, Section Manager, Production Manager or Factory Manager level. * Chilled Food sector experience. * Passionate mentor, coach & motivator of others. * Strong in GMP, BRC Audits, Retailer Codes, H&S, HACCP, SIC, CI, LEAN, Zero Waste & Quality. * Able to lead teams of 5+ (directs) & c.50-100 Operatives (indirects).
