ROLE SUMMARY :
In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request and other activities when required.
DUTIES :
The College is seeking hourly paid professors to join a dynamic team to teach credited courses within Continuing Education in the Winter 2025. These courses will be taught in an ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS format using teaching tools such as Microsoft Teams, Léa and Moodle.
**All courses will be taught from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
350-714-HR Child Development 5 to 12 Years (60 hours)
(Fridays from November 29th, 2024 - January 31st, 2025 & Wednesday January 22 & Monday January 27 & Monday February 3, 2025)
Students will learn of child development stages and milestones (primarily during 5-12 years). Cognitive, physical, affective, social, moral, language and sexual development will be studied.
322-793-HR Child Health (45 hours)
(Thursdays from November 28th, 2024, until January 30th, 2025)
Students will develop skills to ensure children’s health in the childcare setting with consideration to physical, social and emotional dimensions.
322-709-HR Fieldwork 1: Initiation (135 hours) As required for student assessments, maximum 5 hours per student.
(Daily from Tuesday February 4th until Thursday February 27th, 2025)
Students will participate in a 135-hour onsite experience and will work closely with a co-operating educator and a faculty fieldwork supervisor. Students will become familiar with the components of the Fieldwork 1 course: the Manual, the Appendices, the roles and responsibilities of the various participants, reflective practice and journal-writing and developmentally appropriate practice.
322-833-HR Professional Partnerships (45 hours)
(Mondays from March 10th until May 12th, 2025)
Students will learn how to establish a partnership with parents and the resource people who intervene with the child. Students are taught appropriate strategies, methods and attitudes to facilitate the welcoming of new parents, to establish cooperation with them and to ensure educational coherence and continuity. The student will also learn how to compose reports on the child's experience using the necessary tools relevant to the situation.
322-734-HR Educational Activities for Children 0 to 2 Year of Age (60 hours)
(Tuesdays from March 11th until May 27th, 2025)
Students will develop an understanding of how to plan, design, modify and implement educational activities for pre-school and kindergarten aged children while promoting their overall development.
322-824-HR Guidance Interventions (60 hours)
(Wednesdays from March 12th until May 28th, 2025)
Students will develop knowledge and skills with regard to behaviour guidance interventions. The student will learn guidance strategies, plan, implement and evaluate intervention plans.
322-744-HR Educational Activities for Children 2 to 5 Year of Age (60 hours)
(Thursdays from March 13th until May 29th, 2025)
Students will develop an understanding of how to plan, design, modify and implement educational activities for pre-school and kindergarten aged children while promoting their overall development.
322-813-HR Inclusive and Special Education (45 hours)
(Fridays from March 14th until May 16th, 2025)
Students will study the concept of inclusion and how it impacts their role as an educator. Knowledge will be acquired in the form of lectures, labs, hands-on activities, and field trips. The primary focus will be to create curricula that are developmentally appropriate to all learners. This will include: adaptations to the physical environment, programming based on individual needs and developmental level, in addition to, behaviour guidance strategies.
322-754-HR Educational Activities for Children 5 to 12 Year of Age (60 hours)
(Fridays from May 23rd until July 11th, 2025)
Students will develop an understanding of how to plan, design, modify and implement educational activities for 5–12-year-olds while promoting their overall development. Emphasis will be on planning for long-term projects and outings with children.
322-V01-HR Creativity in the Workplace (45 hours)
(Mondays from May 26th - July 21st, 2025, and Tuesdays from June 2nd – July 8th, 2025)
This course will help students to recognize the need to develop and maximize skills in creative thinking as an important life skill for educators and children alike. Students will be given the opportunity to practice and develop creative skills using a variety of lateral thinking techniques.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and/or a combination of other relevant diplomas or certifications in a pertinent field is required, and a combination of industry experience related to the courses being taught.
To have some teaching experience would be considered an asset.

SALARY RANGE (PER HOUR) :
94.11$ - 131.34$
