We are hiring a Finance & Accounting Manager who will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of Nest Wealth on its next stage of growth. Nest is looking for a self-motivated individual who loves to get their hands dirty but also maintains a strategic and big-picture outlook when making decisions. Reporting into the global Finance Department, and good at working independently with cross-functional teams the Finance Manager will ensure that finance and operations run smoothly and that financial reports are accurate and produced in a timely manner. What you’ll be doing: (Finance & Accounting Manager)
  • Performs in collaboration with the global Finance and Corporate development team all duties associated with banking, cost accounting, general book keeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Performs full cycle month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, bank and credit cards reconciliations for multiple Nest Wealth entities
  • Engages with auditors and manage the year-end audit processAssists in the preparation of annual financial statements and commentary, interim and management reporting
  • Prepares necessary financial reports in line with group management reporting and OSC requirementsEnsure reports are in compliance with accounting standards applied locally and at group level (IFRS)
  • Has hands on responsibility for Payroll and cost accounting functions
  • Works closely with other global team members to coordinate responsibilities and prioritize tasks to ensure that key deadlines are managed and met
  • Manage full process from invoicing to customer to cash and account receivable.
  • Manage full process form order to pay for suppliers, accounts payable, vendor bill processing, expense reports, and payments.
  • Prepares monthly tax Journal entries and liase with tax consultants, including file and pay out different provinces, GST/HST PST/QST monthly returns where necessary
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party tax advisors/preparers for corporate annual returns, SR&ED claims, when other in-depth tax assistance is required.
  • Participates in the rollout of finance projects and initiatives
  • Support group FP&A activities like: Cashflow forecasting & Assisting in the corporate and departmental budgeting process.
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Owns adhoc projects and assignments that are related to Canadian entity
Qualifications and Core Skills Needed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from an accredited institute or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of Canadian accounting experience. IFRS Knowledge.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language. Bilingual English/French or Italian a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills including ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word and Excel)
  • Proactive problem-solving/judgment skillsAble to communicate effectively.
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized, proactive and self-motivated individual capable of producing results and meeting deadlines
  • Expected to manage work with minimum supervision
  • CPA or equivalent designation is highly recommended.

Why this role could be a good fit for you?
  • You have 3-5 year s of experience in an accounting role (some public accounting experience preferred)
  • You have a CPA or equivalent designation (or are enrolled in CPA and expected to complete within 1 year)
  • You have good knowledge of IFRS standards.
  • You have exhibited ownership of financial reporting, able to put a 3-statement model together from scratch
  • You have intermediate to advanced Excel skills and are excited to leverage technology (Xero, Expensify, Dext, Google Sheets)
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset with a drive towards automation and efficiency
  • You have strong attention to detail, with an appetite for accuracy and a track record of analytical excellence
  • You are hungry to “do it all” within the finance function at a growing organizationYou are an observant and flexible team-player, able to build on existing foundations and processes

$85,000 - $95,000 a year
Compensation: Our target hiring range is 85,000 - 95,000 CAD per year plus participation in our Annual Bonus Program with eligibility for earning up to 10% base salary for meeting or exceeding corporate targets. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
