Hatch is seeking a Rail Engineering Student to join our Rail team based out of the Calgary, AB office. In this role, you will be working on major railway projects in Western Canada. Join in charitable, social, and sports activities with other Hatch employees. As the successful candidate, you will: Produce all levels of drawings from concept to detailed design. Collaborate in multidisciplinary design teams to develop functional designs in accordance with regulations, laws, and design standards. Maintain high-quality standards through quality control processes. Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma at an accredited University or College. Knowledge of current technical engineering codes and practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). Problem-solving skills and analytical. Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes): Proficiency in Civil 3D is considered an asset. Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Shows critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges. Candidates are expected to work from Hatch’s Calgary office full time for the duration of the work term. This position is available for 4-month or 8-month work terms starting on January 6th.
