Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Head of Data Governance & Ownership, drive successful implementation of data governance initiatives across the Group
- Design a structured framework for organizing and categorizing data domains to effectively embed data governance and data management initiatives
- Lead the engagement and partnership with business stakeholders on interpreting, implementing, and assuring data governance and data management best practice, orchestrate forums to address data governance issues effectively
- Lead data 'domain squads' comprising teams and experts across data governance and data management that partner with business and delivery teams to ensure data ownership practices and data governance policies are adhered to
- Support creation and delivery against a phased roadmap which incrementally and efficiently extends the remit of Sky's data governance
- Implement monitoring mechanisms and reporting for effective data governance assurance with metrics and key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of data governance practices
- Interpret policies to guide data governance practices, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Test and validate the effectiveness of key controls within data governance policies, ensuring robust and compliant practices
Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in data governance, data ownership and leadership roles. Proven track record of leading complex initiatives from inception to successful execution to create value for businesses and customers
- Proven leadership in driving the successful implementation of data governance initiatives and policies
- Demonstrable expertise in implementing and managing comprehensive data governance frameworks and managing data governance forums and ownership structures
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining metrics and key performance indicators and strong ability to collaborate with business teams
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to implement monitoring mechanisms and report on data governance assurance and confidently communicating solutions, ideas, and suggestions to a variety of senior level partners effectively and comprehensibly
- Proven experience of leading a team coupled with a demonstrable ability to empower as well as the ability to mentor and grow individuals within your team
- Results-oriented, diligent, champions best practices for data compliance, governance & quality supporting innovative approaches to data governance and data management
- Skills in building a team where none exists, ensuring the right mix of knowledge and skills comes together and capable of directing others and developing their knowledge and skillsets
